(Political Satire) (WASHINGTON, May 7, 2017) Saying that he was “tired” and “worn out” from how hard being President is, President Donald Trump announced today that he would be retiring from his public duties in the fall, although he will of course continue to be President.
“Who knew that being President was so hard?” Trump told The Failing Times. “I thought, hey, if Prince Philip can do it, why can’t I?”
According to a White House spokesperson, the President will retire from all those public duties, like making speeches in the Rose Garden, and having people come in and take their picture with him while he remains seated at his desk in the Oval Office.
Vice President Pence is all for the idea.
“The man has worked tirelessly for his country,” Pence said. “He deserves now to sit back, play some golf, and enjoy the rest of his time in office. He’s done enough, don’t you think?”
