(Political Satire) (WASHINGTON, DC.–Jan 16, 2017) During his 77 minute press conference yesterday, President Donald Trump asked White House correspondent April Ryan if she knew Frederick Douglass, and “Could you set up a meeting? Because I’d love to meet with him, he’s an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job who is being recognized more and more.”

Ryan, a respected veteran of the press, was shocked. “I suppose he thinks I know Count Basie too, since all us black folks know each other.”

Both Basie and Douglass have been dead for years.

When Trump heard of Ryan’s response he said:

“If she does know Count Basie, I’d love to meet him too. Oh, and also that black guy that used to do the 7-Up commercials.”
