GOP introduces ‘Protect the Deficit Act’

(Political Satire, Still Legal in the USA) WASHINGTON– Republican leaders in the House and Senate plan on introducing and voting on the “Protect the Deficit Act” tomorrow.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said, “The law, which will add 350 billion dollars of debt over the next ten years, guarantees that the deficit will remain strong for the foreseeable future.”

But sources inside the chamber have revealed that the Protection of the Deficit Act is actually the plan to repeal Obamacare, since that’s how much repealing the act will cost, according to the bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

“The GOP leadership doesn’t want anybody to know how much the repeal will cost, so they’re putting some lipstick on a pig with this silly act, ” the source said. “It would be like, if you wanted to make gun silencers legal, calling it the ‘Hearing Protection Act’ or some crazy thing. As if anybody would fall for that.”

The GOP also plans on introducing another bill, the “Three Million Lost Jobs Act,” since it’s estimated that’s how many jobs will be lost repealing Obamacare.

When asked to comment, President-elect Trump was unavailable, as he was busy thinking up a 144 character response to Meryl Streep’s devastating Golden Globes speech.

This is Political Satire, not real news. But Ms. Streep’s speech was gloriously real.

(And, lest you think we made this up:)
