(Political Satire, Still Legal in the USA) OHIO– A woman who is about to lose her health care due to the GOP’s promise to immediately repeal Obamacare, said today that she was thrilled and hopeful that the stock market was up nearly 10%.
The woman, Elaine J. Nomoney, was responding to President-elect Trump’s Tweet yesterday, which said, “The world was gloomy before I won – there was no hope. Now the market is up nearly 10% and Christmas spending is over a trillion dollars!”
Mrs. Nomoney, who was uninsured for years because she could not find coverage due to a pre-existing blood disorder, said “I was absolutely feeling gloomy before the stock market took off! Now I have hope.”
When asked what stocks Mrs. Nomoney owned, she laughed and said, “I don’t own any stocks. I’m still underwater in my mortgage from when big banks collapsed the housing market.”
Mrs. Nomoney receives Obamacare through the expansion in Medicaid that Ohio took from the Federal Government. This gives people who can not afford premiums, subsidies, to make sure they have coverage.
The Failing Times reached out and inquired how Congress would help people like Mrs. Nomomey, and the millions more who would become uninsured. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has promised to repeal Obamacare, said, “I’ll get back to you on that.”
When asked if she was concerned that she would lose her coverage and possibly die, Mrs. Nomoney laughed.
“Of course not! Christmas spending was a trillion dollars! There’s no more gloom and now there’s hope. Didn’t you read President Trump’s tweet?”
