Trump Says Mrs. Clinton Called Taiwan and Pretended To Be Him

ifeelstock//depositphoto.com

(Breaking Political Satire) NEW YORK — President-elect Trump accused Hillary Clinton of imitating his voice in a call with Taiwan’s President, Tsai Ing-wen on Friday afternoon.

The President-elect was clearly playing defense today, after reports of his phone call and other unconventional diplomatic calls to heads of state were circulated in the press.

“Crooked Hillary called up the President and pretended to be me. No doubt about it. She did it, folks,” he said yesterday outside Trump Tower. “And she didn’t even do it very well. She got my accent wrong. Not New York at all. More like Chicago, with a bit of Arkansas and some D.C. thrown in. Sad, really.”

The phone call, which caused a diplomatic stir between the U.S. and China, was the first of its kind since 1979. The “one China” policy has been in place ever since President Nixon negotiated terms with the Chinese more than four decades ago.

When asked to comment, a spokesperson for Mrs. Clinton could not get through a statement without laughing.

But according to sources inside the Taiwanese government, no one is fooled by Mr. Trump’s assertions.

“We know it could not have been Mrs. Clinton,” the spokesperson said. “She speaks in complete sentences.”
