(Breaking Political Satire) FLORIDA– President-elect Donald. J. Trump, who campaigned on a promise to “drain the swamp,” did exactly that early this morning, draining the famous natural wetlands, the Okefenokee Swamp, which was made a National Natural Landmark in 1974.
“I said I’d keep all 2000 jobs at that Carrier plant from going to Mexico, and I said I’d drain the swamp, and here we go, “Mr. Trump, who has just negotiated with Carrier to keep 800 jobs in the U.S., said. “It’s just so beautiful, making it great again.”
The draining of the swamp, which occupies nearly half a million acres along the Georgia-Florida border, caused an instant reaction among environmentalists.
“This is a joke, right?” said Omar Mosspepper, President of the Greenerswamp Preservation League. “I mean–please tell me this is a joke?”
The draining of the swamp sent millions of animals scrambling for some place else to live.
As he wandered out of the park, one alligator was reported to say, “I’m running for Congress. At least I’ll be able to get good healthcare if I’m elected.”
